Mr. Barry Ressler, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Triton Thalassic Technologies, Inc. (T3I), announced today that Patent Number 7,217,936 was issued on May 15, 2007 entitled "System and method for product sterilization using UV light source.
The patent describes a System and method for sterilization, using UV light source(s), of products, e.g., polymer-based products, whether positioned within or external to their packaging, using monochromatic, continuous wave, high-intensity, incoherent light in single and/or multiple light source configurations. The treatment system(s) and method(s) may be used for sterilization of alternative products, including, for example, food products such as meat and poultry, enteral and/or parenteral solutions and systems, and the like.
In addition to the issuance of the above patent, the US Patent office has also advised that they will be issuing another pending patent (originally filed in 2003) to Triton which will further strengthen our proprietary treatment of complex fluids consisting of blood products, pharmaceuticals, injectable solutions and vaccines.
These patents are important to our current expanding activities in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and food industries.
Triton Thalassic Technologies, Inc. (T3I) has developed, patented and manufactures treatment systems that control and minimize bacterial and viral contamination in a variety of applications using only ultraviolet (UV) light energy. This proprietary technology is being applied to a variety of fluids (industrial fluids, process water, beverages, and biologics) and other products in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, nutritionals and specialty packaging markets. T3Is patented process uses the worlds highest powered excimer light source as the sole means for effective pathogen inactivation without the need for chemical or thermal treatment. As a result, the Triton regimen preserves the structure and performance characteristics or value of the product being treated compared with other more destructive (chemical and thermal) decontamination or disinfection technologies. The Triton light source does not incorporate mercury gases and is therefore a more environment-friendly technology compared with conventional mercury UV light sources.
The company welcomes prospective customers with fluid contamination questions and challenges to use our convenient inquiry response form.
